Music City Show - Nashville

Team Conn just returned from an amazing adventure to the Music City, USA. Music  And we take you there with us on this weeks show. The hospitality and warmth of the people made Nashville one of our favorite cities we have hosted a show from.   We enjoyed our glimpse into the world of Country.  From the top singers to an inspiring trip to Saddle Up ranch, this show has something for everyone.  This week's show features LeAnn Rimes, Craig Morgan, and the Opryland Resort.  And we take you to some of Nashville's favorite spots: Grand Ole Opry, BlueBird Cafe, Music Row, the Country Music Hall of Fame.  Fasten your seat belts as this weeks show takes us to the Country in style.

Leann12Unquestionably, one of the most amazing Country singers of our time is LeAnn Rimes.  Starting her professional singing career at the young age of 12, her career has been sizzling ever since.   LeAnn has sold over 30 million albums.  WOW!  And she has won two coveted Grammy Awards along the way.   She truly is a busy woman.  Not only has she just released her new album "This Woman", but also just completed her hosting stint for Nashville Star to recorded ratings, is the official spokesperson for the Childrens Miracle Network and the Treat Eczema Now campaign.   You go girl!!   During the interview with Cafe Central TV she discusses her family life, her battle with Eczema, her album, and her seven dogs!  It fun, revealing, and inspiring.  So be sure to tune in....

What an exciting time we had last week at Cory Pickos World Ski Center in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.  We met Regina Jaquess, a world class champion water skier.  What an amazing young woman!  Not only is she a championship skier but she's hard at work in her second year of pharmacy school.  Regina has won over 70 medals in International competition and is the only person in the history of collegiate sking to hold records in all three (slalom, trick and jump) events.  And, guess what?  I got a lesson from Regina....Webimg_8260

Cory Pickos is also a water ski champion and runs the Cory Pickos Ski School.  He showed us some of his tricks but we were'nt about to try some of his twists and turns!Conn_jackson_show_destin_august_2006_031

Australia to air The Conn Jackson Show regularly

Australia Down Under here we come.  The intial test was an overwhelmingly success.  We have inked a deal to air in Australia, our second official continent to receive the show.  BEST part of airing in Australia is...  No sub titles needed.  In a land known for it's Reefs, Coastline, Aborigines, Fosters, and Australian Heart Throbs (Ladies I know you will agree), they can add The Concept as one of there not to miss things to see.  Most importantly, we look forward to the opportunity to come and film down there.  And of course take the time to see the sites.  It's great also to air in a place so supportive and friendly to Americans.   Thanks for being a beacon of hope, and for the amazing Sydney Olympics.  The Concept is designed to be enjoyed in many lands that believe in the best of the Human Spirit.   Tune in to watch and enjoy.  We think it would be cool if a few Koalas and Kangaroo's tune in for the fun.... the more the merrrier!!!

Jack Hanna gets Wild and Dangerous

Jack20hanna1_1 What a treat to take our viewers to the famous Columbus Zoo and Aquarium which is the largest Zoo in North America.  And it's home to America's favorite animal lover Jack Hanna.  You may recognize Jack from his own show "The Animal Adventures with Jack Hanna" or from his regular guest appearances on The David Letterman Show, Good Morning America and Larry King Live to name a few.  Jungle Jack gave us the spectacular safari tour of the Columbus Zoo.  We almost left our host, Conn Jackson, there to entertain the western lowland gorilla in the African Forest.  The gorilla's had a hoot performing for Conn.  The place was relatively quiet until Conn arrived.  And then did the place awaken.  It was a real treat.  Hope you tune in to see all the action.

The Conn Jackson Crew also was toured around the park by Jack's daughter, Julie Hanna.  Who is a true inspiriation herself.  She has overcome leukemia and numerous operations on her brain. Julie loves and treats endangered species.  She is noutorious for nursing them back to health.  Julie has shares her story and those of the courageous endangered species making a comeback thanks to her and the folks at the Columbus Zoo.

Our camera's were able to get up close and personal with many of the animals.  But the hit of the day was a new baby elephant.... She stole the show.  This elephant was none stop action.  She exercised on a ball, played soceer and played Hide & Seek with Conn.  It was a zoorrific day.  Prepare for your personal safari tour with Conn and your Cafe Central Crew.  Tune in this week for sure....

Tyler Perry visits with Conn

Bnw002

From homelessness to sheer bliss, thirty five-year old playwright, director, producer and actor Tyler Perry is truly riding high! Within the span of only six years, he went from being "out on the streets" to "selling out" theaters wherever he goes. He has done it with not only one show - but with seven shows having successfully toured the nation and thus creating a change in the history of Black theater.

This New Orleans native has had a stellar decade and is showing no signs of letting up any time soon. In 1992, he wrote a series of letters to himself in an effort to find a catharsis for his own childhood pain. Those same letters would eventually culminate to become Tyler's first hit musical, "I Know I've Been Changed," a rousing stage play about adult survivors of child abuse. The story combines a delicate mix of comedy and drama while addressing the often times uncomfortable issues which surround one's recovery from painful childhood scars.

All About Horses from Kentucky

Kentucky is Horse Country.  And it is so beautiful.  Cafe Central takes you to the home of the Kentucky derby, also we visit the home stables of the most popular horse in America - Smarty Jones, and jump into the action of the biggest Horse Challenge - the Foxhall Cup.  Where the top Olympic and World Champion Horses compete in Dressage, Cross Country, and Show Jumping.  You are going to feel like you are on the horses themselves.  It's amazing!!

Why is Kentucky called the Bluegrass State?  The grass is not really blue - it's green - but in the spring, bluegrass produces bluish-purple buds that, when seen in large fields, give a rich blue cast to the grass.  Haven't you always wondered why it was called blue?  No matter what it is called at 6:00 AM it is absolutely beautiful!  6:00 AM!  Yes, your Cafe' Crew was up and rolling to bring you a great interview from Three Chimneys Farm

Smarty20jones20headshotmichael20j20marteSmarty Jones, America's favorite stallion, given his heroic run through last year's Triple Crown.  He won not only the famous Kentucky Derby, but also the Preakness.  Smarty's tale is one from hardship to glory.  This undersized, unknown, and underdog came out of no where to but a whooping on his pedigree competition.   Smarty is remarkable as you will find out in our segment running this month on Cafe Central TV.

Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort

Conn_jackson_show_destin_august_2006_038_1 The crew just got back from the beautiful Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort and what an amazing time we had.  The resort has so many things to offer their guests, golf, tennis, swimming, sailing, water sports, shopping and award winning fine dining.  We had a chance to drop into some of the unique shops at Baytowne Wharf in the resort.  One of my favorite shops was Magnolia and Ivy Tearoom where I had high tea with some very lovely ladies...Conn_jackson_show_destin_august_2006_006_2

We tried to enjoy the many activites of the resort but there just wasn't enough time!  Adventure girl, Katie, went parasailing over the gulf and I was lucky enough to have a cooking lesson with the renowned chef of the resort, Chef Chee.  Conn_jackson_show_destin_august_2006_007

Finz Restaurant is located on the beach side of the resort with the food being only outshined by the sensational views.  The crew loved Chef Chee and Finz Restaurant Chef James for allowing us to sample some of the wonderful entrees.  Their hospitality was exceptional along with all the people we met at Sandestin Resort.  Look for this fun show in the upcoming weeks.

Kim Basinger and Debra Norville Were One

Kim_basinger Our host of The Concept, Conn Jackson, was the emcee for the most prestigious Teen Pageant, America's Jr Miss.  Past winners are a true reflection of the integrity, intelligence, and talent that are judged at the pageant.  Past winners of the Georgia Jr Miss include Kim Basinger and Debra Norville.  And a past national winner greets us each Morning on Good Morning America, none other than Diane Sawyer.  As for Jr Miss -- NO bathing suits here.  Contestants are judged on interview skills, scholastic achievement, talent, fitness, and grace/poise/carriage.  With over 500 people in attendance, the evening was electric.  Conn made sure the audience was alert with his humor, which made everyone laugh.  One grandfather at the event commented, "Conn was great, way better than the Bingo caller we have at Vet on Wednesday evenings."  :)  We are ConnTV salute the contestants and the winners of the years Georgia Jr Miss.
